SkyWatch - Winter Weather

Grey skies
fading light . . . rain
tree breaking wind

over yonder far away hill
a touch of colour

that has the power to banish
the winter blues

Whatever your weather
have a great day!

Wild Bird Wednesday - Kookaburra

A puffed up, very cold Kookaburra
hoping for a handout

field mice are in their burrows and
the snakes he likes as a take-away
are too cold to show their faces
poor old kookaburra

OUR WORLD - Wonders of the Forest

A picnic in the forest
with glowing red Amanitas

a basket of delicious pine mushrooms

and best of all,
three blond beauties in pink

A very special day for me indeed.

TODAY'S FLOWERS & I Heart Macro - Iceland Poppies

A little while ago
I put in a patch of poppies . . .

after enjoying their winter jewelled coats,

they grew tall
and unfolded their silken petals

winter winds quickly stripped them bare
to show off their golden hearts

they are so pretty from every angle

and provide sustenance to bees and butterflies
when not much else is around.

SkyWatch - Cloud Overload

The darkness is lifting, two weeks
in bed with a virus???

A good book, Viggo Mortensen, maybe
but a VIRUS??? Just not my style.

Eyesight still not up to scratch
so visiting is limited

These were all taken one early morning
from just about the same spot in my garden

first shot is East, second West
and the above is straight up.

North-west

South

North

and one of the peacocks getting in on the action.

Stay well and be happy!

OUT WORLD - Pollution

Pea soup in Singapore

the same in Hong Kong

and even on the Great Wall in a remote area.
Sorry, I could not find the ones of people wearing
smog masks in Beijing.

If you think this is bad, think of me with my lungs blocked and
my barely functioning heart not coping well at all.

No, I'm not exposed to pollution here on the farm, those shots
are from our trip to China 12 years ago.

I'm just sick as a dog with some dreaded lurgie.

It looks like I shall make a strategic retreat for a while
and take to my bed.

TODAY'S FLOWERS & I Heart Macro - Snippets from my Garden

On a misty winter morning,
the Wallflowers and 'Hot Lips' Sage
are taking over the path

looking through the last of the cherry tomatoes
at a riot of parsley and oak leaf lettuce

up close and personal with one of my little bliss bombs
they have been uprooted recently but all the
little green tomatoes are colouring up nicely.

and the last of my roses

but who knows???

Today the sun shines
and I'm out the door to do some weeding.

SkyWatch - After Sunset

The sickle moon  shines brightly

although the last light of the sun
still lingers in the western sky

the light that mimics the curvature of the Earth
just goes to show that the Earth is round after all.

Captured an hour ago . . .
